I don't find it to be too messy after trying to use this the first few times after intimacy. I usually left it in place anywhere from 4-8 hours before removing it. Since we had a breastfeeding toddler, intimacy would often be around midnight or later, then I would put in place the Soft cups, lay down from a few minutes to 30 minutes before getting up and going to bed. Then when I would wake up in the morning I would remove it. It is normal to also have sperm left over in the cup. No matter how long I left it in place, there always seemed to be a little left over. When trying to conceive my second child, I used this for 4 out of the 6 cycles, since I wasn't introduced to the product during my first two cycles.
- What are they?
The soft cups are one-time use menstrual cups, that women have
started using for trying to conceive.
- How does it work?
The
purpose of this product is to keep sperm closer to the cervix. You insert it
after intimacy.
- Is it hard to use?
There is a
little bit of a learning curve to the soft cups if you have never used a
menstrual cup before. With practice, I’ve gotten better at using them when I was
trying for my 2nd
and 3rd.
I think the soft cups come with instructions that may be helpful to first-time
users.
- Where can you buy it?
If you are in the
US, you can find the soft cups in the menstrual aisle of a Walmart. The soft
cups can also be found on Amazon too. Amazon Link (To Purchase): Instead Soft Cups.
- How long can you wear them?
If I remember correctly, because
they are originally designed for menstrual cycles, you can wear them I between
8-12 hours.
- Will it leak?
After
you get use to putting it in place, if you do it correctly you really shouldn't
get leaking, because the cup will capture it. If for some reason it feels like
there is leaking, because the cup is full, you can always take out the cup and put
in a new one.
