  • Pomegranate Notes
While consuming pomegranate fruit or juice may be beneficial during pregnancy, avoid taking pomegranate extract as it may contain the rind, which can bring on contractions and early labor. Pomegranate juice can be high in calories, so consume it only in moderation. It may also interact with certain medications, including ACE inhibitors, blood thinners, blood pressure medication and statins. 

  • Vitamin C Notes
Studies have shown that too much vitamin C in the form of supplements during pregnancy can lead to preterm labor, and in rare cases scurvy (a severe vitamin c deficiency) to expectant moms who took Vitamin C supplements. Excessive Vitamin C can cause an upset stomach as well according to experts. Best to only take 500 at a time.
