Prepare for Early Pregnancy

Some different symptoms a woman can have in early pregnancy, sometimes as early as 4-6 weeks pregnant, and for others this my occur when they are farther along or not at all (remember no symptoms, doesn't always mean miscarriage)

  • Nausea
  • Vomitting
  • Constipation
  • Gas
  • Headaches
  • Dizziness
  • Uncomfortable Sleep
  • Excessive Saliva
  • Acid Reflux

Some different ways you can prepare for these discomforts.

Gas
  • Stock up on a bottle or two of gas medicine.
  • Avoid gas producing foods

Nausea
  • Sea Wrist Band
  • Hard Candy
  • Vitamin B6
  • Taking your prenatal vitamins at night before you go to sleep
  • Munch on crackers, keep them at your bedside
  • Don't let yourself get hungry

Dizziness
  • Don't get up too quickly

Constipation-GI Issues
You are more likely to get constipation if you are:
 (1) prone to it, (2) have IBS, and (3) are less active
  • Excercise
  • Take Fiber
  • Drink water to avoid dehydration.
  • Avoid drinks, such as cola, alcohol, coffee, and tea. They may dehydrate you.
  • Use a toilet stool to help eliminate completely (Amazon Link: Toilet Stools)

Uncomfortable Sleep
  • A Pregnancy Pillow may help you get more comfortable.

Excessive Saliva
Excessive Saliva can lead to nausea and possibly to triggering the gag reflux. According to What To Expect.com, this is completely harmless and should pass after the first trimester of pregnancy. These things may help:
  • Use a minty mouth wash alcohol free
  • Brush your teeth often

Acid Reflux
  • Papaya Enzyme Supplement (a midwife recommended this)
  • Over the counter tums

Implantation Dips & Raised BBT

An Implantation Dip is when your basal body temperature (BBT) dips below your cover line post ovulation, usually said to occur around 7 to 9 days pass ovulation on average and then continues to rise without falling below the cover line again. 3 to 5 days pass ovulation for implantation dips is said to be rare.  Some believe implantation dips are myths, because of varying results in dips and outcomes for pregnancy.  Usually it is said when your BBT stays above your cover line without dipping below the cover line, it is a sign that you're pregnant.   This is just a theory, but it seems for some early implantation dips, may lead to earlier positive pregnancy tests. The exception to early implantation dips theory I have found is that  some women get early positive pregnancy tests as a result of having a multiples pregnancy, some women gets dips in many of their cycles that do not result in pregnancy and some women like me don't get dips during a c...
