Questions Often Asked:
Will a subsequent labor and delivery go faster or slower than the previous one?
If I had a C-section with my first, does that mean I'll never have a VBAC?
If I didn't progress in a previous labor, will my body progress in a subsequent one?
All great questions, but unfortunately not one of those can be answered with 100% accuracy since every woman's labor and delivery experience and the situation is different. Also, no health care provider can tell you how your labor and delivery will go before you have had it. Even if you are having a scheduled C-section for a certain day, there is no guarantee that it will or will not be complication free until the actual procedure has occurred. And there can be women who had an uncomplicated delivery with their first and end up with an emergency c-section for their second and vice versa. You never know.
The best advice I ever heard for these fears and concerns are this:
"A previous labor does not dictate a future labor."
