My Newborn List: Diapering (Disposables)

- Not Necessary For Cloth Diapering Parents -
  • Disposable Diapers (Until Umbilical Stump Heals)
I am a cloth diapering mom. However, I also used the small pack of Huggies Snugglers disposable diapers given to me by the hospital and 1 pack of Babyganics newborn natural disposable diapers in addition to my newborn cloth diapers during the first two weeks while I was waiting for baby's umbilical stump to fall off and the healing process because not all of my newborn cloth diapers had the pull-down option for the umbilical cord. I didn't want any of the cloth diapers  that did not have the pull-down snap rubbing or covering the umbilical area. I also didn't want to use the cloth diapers at times when the umbilical stump started bleeding/goo a few times, after pressing the belly button. The umbilical stump had to be reclamped before being discharged from the hospital. It fell off on day three. On day five, at my baby's first pediatrician visit, the pediatrician examined and pressed around the belly and said there would probably be more goo coming out, but looked good. Around day 9 it still had a thick dry crust. Around day 10, I noticed baby's onesie had some smears of blood / goo as the dry crust was almost completely off. By day 11, it looked like overall all the dry crust was off.  By 2 weeks umbilical area was healed, no more goo, bleeding or crusts. It seems like it took longer to heal with my 3rd baby, however, it could just be because it has been 2.5 years since my second baby was a baby.

I also keep travel size packs of disposable diapers from the dollar store, a dollar store brand or Huggies brand when I can find them in my car kit organizer in my car as emergency diapers in case I run out of cloth diapers when I am traveling by car and / or doing an all day outing with the kids. I have had occasions also where I've forgotten to restock my diaper bag because I forgot I used everything or took things out. So I know its always a good idea to have it even if these occasions do not occur often. (Hey, it's always when you don't have it you end up needing it). The reason I am not buying the natural disposable diapers as emergency diapers, is I am not using the disposable diapers that often to buy large packs of diapers and  baby will probably outgrow the size before I use all of them and then I will get stuck with a bunch of unusable diapers.

Babyganics Newborn Natural Disposable Diapers

  • Disposable Wipes

I usually use cloth wipes. However, during the first two weeks I used three Parent's Choice (Wal-Mart) 80 wipe count of disposable wipes left over from my postpartum and birth kit in addition to cloth wipes since I have a newborn and a toddler in diapers. I was using some disposable diapers in the beginning in addition to my cloth diapers with my newborn and my toddler in cloth diapers only.

Some online boards that will tweak (alter) a pregnancy test photo to help individuals identify if the test is a faint positive or indeed negative, often will not do blue dyes.

Frida Mom for Post Laparoscopy Care

My Frida Mom Basket for Post-Laparoscopy Care. Why I Love the Frida Mom Line (Even Beyond Motherhood) One of the things I’ve really come to appreciate is how versatile the Frida Mom line is—not just for new moms, but for anyone recovering from abdominal surgeries, such as laparoscopies for endometriosis. After surgery, comfort and gentle care are everything. That’s where the C-section recovery underwear comes in. Even if you haven’t had a baby, the design makes sense—when you have incisions on your abdomen, you need something soft, high-waisted, and non-restrictive. These disposable underwears are a lifesaver compared to standard disposable Depends. The big difference? You can build your own pad system . Start with the underwear. Add a menstrual pad. Layer on a witch hazel perineal liner, perineal cream, or both. Attach an optional heating pad for cramping. It’s completely customizable depending on what your body needs that day. I also want to mention the liners pack...

My Laparoscopy Recovery Essentials: What’s Actually Helping Me Heal

Disclaimer: Links to all the products I mentioned are included. I am not being paid to promote any of them and do not receive payments. Skin sensitivity may impact your experiences with these products. Recovering from my laparoscopy has been a journey, and honestly, some days are more uncomfortable than others. Over the past week, I’ve found a few products that have made a huge difference in how I feel—both physically and mentally. Here’s what’s been helping me get through it: 1. Body Wash That Feels Safe Before and after surgery, I wanted something gentle that still felt clean. I’ve been using Dove Antibacterial Body Wash , and it’s been perfect. It keeps the incision area clean without stinging or irritating my skin, which is such a relief.  2. Underwear That Actually Works I never thought I’d get excited about disposable underwear, but Frida Mom Disposable C-Section Underwear has been a game-changer. They’re soft, supportive, and don’t press on my stomach—exactly what ...
