This is our first Teacher Appreciation Week ever! We didn't really know about this practice and remember to do it when our oldest went to preschool from what I remember. Thanks to Facebook and Pinterest this year, we had plenty of reminders to buy or make a useable gift for my oldest's kindergarten teacher.
We did a crowd favorite, "Hands Down You're The Best Teacher Around" attached to a bottle of hand sanitizer and foaming hand soap. This free printable came from the website, Eighteen25. To get the free printable, click here. I am not affiliated or being paid to promote it.
I liked the idea of doing scented Bath & Body Works Hand Soaps and Hand Sanitizers. That's kind of where my mind goes for high-end soaps and sanitizers. However, after reading a few articles and posts about what teachers actually want and use, I thought against it. So many of these items discouraged scented lotions, candles, and lip balms.
I decided to keep it plain as possible. Instead of Bath & Body Works, I purchased a regular scented hand sanitizer and foaming hand soap from Wal-Mart. If I were to choose a scent from Bath & Body Works, I probably would have opted for something along the lines of Kitchen Lemon. I am not affiliated or being paid to promote Bath & Body Works.
What's great about my Wal-Mart purchase is I got everything for just $5 dollars, not including tax. The heart bag was $1, the hand sanitizer I rounded to $2, and the foaming hand soap for $2. This is a practical and inexpensive teacher gift that he or she can use in the classroom. Not to mention that printable teacher tags give it a DIY feel. This Pinterest project is relatively easy to do and won't leave you saying "Nailed It."
I got this free printable link from Skip To My Lou website. It had teacher appreciation printable gift card holders from Heather at Chickabug. For a link to the printable, click here. I am not affiliated or being paid to promote either of these websites.
This teacher appreciation gift was on the more expensive side. I bought a $25 Target gift card at Target. It includes a service fee of $4 dollars as well. So I actually paid $29 for it. Overall, I spent $34 dollars not including tax for both teacher appreciation gifts. So under $40 dollars!
It is a relatively easy Pinterest project to do. I downloaded the printable. I folded the 8x10 computer paper in two and cut the sides. I did not want to cut the two pieces apart. Then I glued the two pieces together. I used double sided tape to stick the gift card. Followed by my kindergartener writing her name at the bottom in marker.

- I Looked for Teacher Appreciation Ideas On Pinterest
Then I Decided A Gift Card Is Better -
The second gift idea I did for teacher appreciation is a gift card for $25.00. A teacher can choose to use the gift card on his or herself or in their classroom. The choice is theirs on who to use it on and what it gets used on.I got this free printable link from Skip To My Lou website.
