Celebrating the Loss of The Second Tooth

So my oldest lost another tooth. It happened unexpectedly in the afternoon, and I found myself yet again not prepared. I didn't think my daughter would lose one tooth per month. The day my oldest said her tooth was wiggly, I asked my husband to pick up some teeth related activities and accessories from the local store. He purchased dental products, such as mouthwash and dental floss picks. I ordered a few things online as well. My concern was would the online items get here in time? (They did not).

My daughter was so excited about losing her second tooth that she carried it around all day. I warned her to leave it home so she wouldn't lose it. She lost it. She thought she left it somewhere in our van. Her great joy became great despair, as she was sure the tooth fairy would not come now that she had a missing tooth. I had her look in her bed and in the car. While I was sad for her, this allowed extra time for the online items to come, which came a couple days later. I reassured her she had proof of a missing tooth and offered the suggestion of writing a note explaining what happened. It was a great chance to practice writing! As well as offer experience with writing a note or letter.

I also found cute lost your tooth/tooth fairy related tooth receipts to pair with the tradition of receiving money. The free printable I used was from the website, The Suburban Mom (www.thesuburbanmom.com). The link to the tooth receipt and note is here

Gifts to promote healthy habits:
- Dental Floss Picks for Kids
- Kid Tooth Paste
- Kid Mouth Wash
- Peppa Pig Dental Activity Book

Tooth Fairy Part:
- Dollar
- Tooth Fairy Book (The Berenstain Bears and the Tooth Fairy
- Tooth Keeper (Bonkers The Money Tooth Fairy Plush)

This was the first time I had purchased a tooth keeper. When my daughter woke up the next morning it was in her bed with a dollar tucked into its pocket. She absoutely loves her tooth keeper monkey and even gave it a name. My daughter rarely gives names to her toys and usually when she does, in the past she just called them by her own name. This time, she gave this plush monkey his own unique name. I honestly think she was more excited about the tooth keeper monkey than any of the other items she recieved. More excited about the monkey than the money. It was such as a success, when my other children start loosing teeth I will be ordering these again.

If you like what you saw in my photos, I've added a list below.
To Get These Accessories:
White Towels (Target)
Wooden Plaque with Mason Jars (Target)
- 11 x 14 Frames with 8x10 Mat (Wal-Mart)
- White Hooks (Wal-Mart)

I wrote a post about my thoughts on the tooth fairy here. To summarize it, our final thoughts were there is no harm in celebrating and having a little fun with it. However, the focus would primarily be on promoting health and healthy habits, whenever possible. The first tooth ended up being a success. I wrote about it here

Frida Mom for Post Laparoscopy Care

My Frida Mom Basket for Post-Laparoscopy Care. Why I Love the Frida Mom Line (Even Beyond Motherhood) One of the things I’ve really come to appreciate is how versatile the Frida Mom line is—not just for new moms, but for anyone recovering from abdominal surgeries, such as laparoscopies for endometriosis. After surgery, comfort and gentle care are everything. That’s where the C-section recovery underwear comes in. Even if you haven’t had a baby, the design makes sense—when you have incisions on your abdomen, you need something soft, high-waisted, and non-restrictive. These disposable underwears are a lifesaver compared to standard disposable Depends. The big difference? You can build your own pad system . Start with the underwear. Add a menstrual pad. Layer on a witch hazel perineal liner, perineal cream, or both. Attach an optional heating pad for cramping. It’s completely customizable depending on what your body needs that day. I also want to mention the liners pack...

My Laparoscopy Recovery Essentials: What’s Actually Helping Me Heal

Disclaimer: Links to all the products I mentioned are included. I am not being paid to promote any of them and do not receive payments. Skin sensitivity may impact your experiences with these products. Recovering from my laparoscopy has been a journey, and honestly, some days are more uncomfortable than others. Over the past week, I’ve found a few products that have made a huge difference in how I feel—both physically and mentally. Here’s what’s been helping me get through it: 1. Body Wash That Feels Safe Before and after surgery, I wanted something gentle that still felt clean. I’ve been using Dove Antibacterial Body Wash , and it’s been perfect. It keeps the incision area clean without stinging or irritating my skin, which is such a relief.  2. Underwear That Actually Works I never thought I’d get excited about disposable underwear, but Frida Mom Disposable C-Section Underwear has been a game-changer. They’re soft, supportive, and don’t press on my stomach—exactly what ...
