Some women claim they get better and clearer results with morning urine, while some others say afternoon. Which is it, and does it really matter? Or does it only matter if you’re testing early or using a certain pregnancy test brand?
You Can Recreate First Morning Urine
According to pregnancy.about.com, "You can still test with morning urine, even when it’s not morning by re-creating morning urine. You can re-create morning urine by not using the bathroom for 4 hours. You must drink normal amounts. If you drink too much you can dilute the urine" (Weiss).
When You Don't Need First Morning Urine
Also found on pregnancy.about.com, "When you’re in your fourth or fifth week of pregnancy, your HCG levels should be high enough that you do not have to use it anymore" (Weiss).
Home Pregnancy Tests Are Sensitive Enough
On What To Expect.com an explanation of urine concentration can be found here, and it says, "Home pregnancy tests used to recommend using your first pee of the morning when hCG is present. But now they're sensitive enough that it's not necessary - though it helps if you're taking the test early. Similarly drinking too much liquid beforehand could dilute your urine and affect the results" (Home Pregnancy Tests How-Tos).
