Purchasing Woven Wraps (From E-Bay)

The Highs and Pitfalls from Buying From E-Bay

-Buy From E-Bay -
One place you can find woven wraps is E-bay. All you have to do is go E-bay's website, www.ebay.com, and search for woven wrap and click the baby category on left side of your screen, or click here as a shortcut.

- Cautions -
1. Know What A Real Woven Wrap Looks Like
Be aware of what a real woven wrap looks like and don't make the rookie mistake of buying items that look similar to woven wraps, and have the words woven and wrap in their listings. An example is any e-bay listings that say Baby Sling Woven 100% Cotten Wrap Carriers that looks similar to a woven wrap.  While the colors are beautiful and the photo resembles a wrap, it's not a woven wrap.  The material is not the same as a real woven wrap. I made that mistake, but you don't have to.

Don't confuse these types of listings for a woven wrap
Here is a photo of the wraps that are not real woven wrap
Buying Experience # 1
I did end up being partially refunded by the seller.
The advertising was misleading by saying woven and wrap in the same listing.
This is actually made of gauze.
2. Be Aware of New Sellers & Bidding Auctions
A new seller on e-bay will have a lower star rating - that is the number by their e-bay user name. They also will have a lower percent to no percent for positive transactions in the last 12 months listed on their user profile.

This is what a profile of a new seller / buyer looks like

New sellers do not always know or follow the e-bay rules when it comes to selling and bidding auctions. This happened to me recently twice, I won a bid for a woven wrap, and I received a message from this new seller that the bid I won and paid for, he or she would have to cancel and refund me, because someone else had purchased the item on the buy it now option - although I had already won the bid. It seems they might have had two separate listings for the same item, but only had one product to sell. The other time, I purchased a baby bath tub and after winning the bid and paying for it, the seller requested more money, because he or she wanted to sell it for more than what my winning bid was. If I did not give more money, they said they would cancel my winning bid and refund me. This was an item with no reserve. The seller later relisted the item, to sell for 10 dollars more than my winning bid. In both cases I had to call E-bay Customer Service, I was covered by Buyer Insurance, had to be refunded, and negative review left, because these new sellers didn't honor my winning bids and payment for the items won. Save yourself a headache, when in doubt buy from sellers with experience.

3. Know Wrap Sizes & The Size You Need
Here was my third buying experience with purchasing woven wraps on e-bay. A seller listed a beautiful Ella Roo Woven Wrap that  stated it to be a size small. Also stated it could be used as a ring sling or for newborns and small babies. When this wrap arrived, I couldn't do a front carry with a baby doll, who would be around the size of a newborn. I was also informed by my baby wearing group that the small wrap she listed as 100 cm is not long enough to make a ring sling. This seller does not accept refunds, but I made a case because her item was misrepresented. I was under the impression with her comments about the wraps abilities this would be the size 2 or 3 until I tried it and discovered how terribly short it was. I can only assume it was a size 1 and maybe not even a real wrap and should have been advertised as scrap for anyone interested in making a baby carrier. Another thing is the listing only shows a folded wrap. No additional pictures showing its length or it being used. The only nice thing is the item is in great condition, which indicates to me it was hardly or never used.

Buying Experience # 3
EllaRoo Woven Wrap (Size 1) Maiji Print - $39.28
If it had been longer, this would have been an awesome deal.

Here is me unable to finish my front carry wrap
with a baby doll and this is with me pulling tight.
Not enough fabric to go under the legs and double knot at the back.
This not working has nothing to do with my big baby bump.

- Tips for Buying Woven Wraps on E-bay -
1. Make sure the listing says Woven Wrap and the words are next to each other.
2. Look Up the Brand to verify it is is a real woven wrap brand (not something like it or handmade by the seller). The e-bay description box / information in a listing should tell you the name of the brand, including if its home made. Some well known woven wrap brands are, EllaRoo, Little Frog, Didymos, Natibaby, Girasol, and Ellevill. As a curtsey, I've linked the brands I listed, so you can see their websites to help determine if the product you are looking at is legitimate.
3. Inspect pictures closely, especially close up photos. Look at the condition of the fabric, ask questions if you have any concerns. See if the fabric has a tag with the brand. Or if the item comes with any packages or CDs that include the name of the brand that helps verify that this product is a legitimate brand.
4. Know what these wraps normally cost, to see if the price the seller is asking for is actually a great deal or what the seller is asking for is retail and not above retail.
5. Know wrap sizes and what size you need.

Frida Mom for Post Laparoscopy Care

My Frida Mom Basket for Post-Laparoscopy Care. Why I Love the Frida Mom Line (Even Beyond Motherhood) One of the things I’ve really come to appreciate is how versatile the Frida Mom line is—not just for new moms, but for anyone recovering from abdominal surgeries, such as laparoscopies for endometriosis. After surgery, comfort and gentle care are everything. That’s where the C-section recovery underwear comes in. Even if you haven’t had a baby, the design makes sense—when you have incisions on your abdomen, you need something soft, high-waisted, and non-restrictive. These disposable underwears are a lifesaver compared to standard disposable Depends. The big difference? You can build your own pad system . Start with the underwear. Add a menstrual pad. Layer on a witch hazel perineal liner, perineal cream, or both. Attach an optional heating pad for cramping. It’s completely customizable depending on what your body needs that day. I also want to mention the liners pack...

My Laparoscopy Recovery Essentials: What’s Actually Helping Me Heal

Disclaimer: Links to all the products I mentioned are included. I am not being paid to promote any of them and do not receive payments. Skin sensitivity may impact your experiences with these products. Recovering from my laparoscopy has been a journey, and honestly, some days are more uncomfortable than others. Over the past week, I’ve found a few products that have made a huge difference in how I feel—both physically and mentally. Here’s what’s been helping me get through it: 1. Body Wash That Feels Safe Before and after surgery, I wanted something gentle that still felt clean. I’ve been using Dove Antibacterial Body Wash , and it’s been perfect. It keeps the incision area clean without stinging or irritating my skin, which is such a relief.  2. Underwear That Actually Works I never thought I’d get excited about disposable underwear, but Frida Mom Disposable C-Section Underwear has been a game-changer. They’re soft, supportive, and don’t press on my stomach—exactly what ...
