Pregnancy While Breastfeeding

This is also in here as a disclaimer. Although I myself have so far had good experiences with trying to conceive while breastfeeding so far, I am not saying that breastfeeding during pregnancy is perfectly safe for every woman and has no health risks. Only your doctor / midwife or team of health care professionals can tell you what is safe and best in your situation. I am also not saying all of the things listed below will happen to you.  Low Progesterone While Breastfeeding Breastfeeding can sometimes causes low levels of progesterone. For some women who do become pregnant while breastfeeding, they can have low progesterone levels that may require them to take medicine. Positive Pregnancy Tests!

Positive Home Pregnancy Test 12.31.12 Positive Home Pregnancy Tests 12.31.12 and  1.1.13 Positive Blood Pregnancy Test 1.2.13 This morning I was at my OBGYN office for some blood work and I received the most wonderful news! After 8 months and 1 week of trying to catch the first postpartum egg, 6 months of trying to conceive while extended breastfeeding my first child, a 3 month break from trying, having Stage 1 Endometriosis and a tilted uterus, the blood test came back positive for pregnancy. (I am 4 days late and had 2 positive at home pregnancy tests). I am around 4 weeks and 2 days pregnant. This news brings excitement and relief. I had a fear that I would need to get a Laparoscopy every time I wanted to become pregnant. I have heard stories of Endometriosis growing faster after having the Laparoscopies. I guess 40 weeks of pregnancy  and extended breastfeeding for over 2 years with my first, might have slowed mine down.

Click on the links  to read more about OPKs OPKs more accurate? What is an OPK? Best Time To Take OPKs? How to read an OPK? Confirming Positives Positive OPK, Now What? More than 1 positive OPK? When To Expect Positive OPKs   Keep record of your OPK results. Some individuals save them throughout a cycle and label what cycle day the OPK was taken on, even maybe if it was positive or negative, because the test begins to fade as it gets older. If you are using a fertility chart, include your OPK results in that to help make your chart more accurate. There are many different OPK brands. The two featured in my personal photos are Internet Cheapie Brand Ovulation Testing Strips from Amazon.com and Dollar Store brand from a Dollar Store.
