Now that you've gotten a positive pregnancy test, you will want to confirm with your health care provider that you are pregnant and have a viable pregnancy. If you have had a miscarriage before, your health care provider may do beta testing to see that your HCG levels are rising. With my 2nd and 3rd pregnancy, I paid $17 dollars at my OBGYN office and had my pregnancy confirmed via blood test. It was about a 15 minute wait in the waiting room for the results. Once the results confirmed what my home pregnancy test did, the nurse changed my folder to pregnancy and my first appointment was set for a week or two later. Since I have no history of miscarriages so far, while waiting for my first appointment, I will take a pregnancy test or two, to verify that I am still getting positive pregnancy tests.
