Pregnancy Cravings

Do you have any cravings during your pegnancies? I wonder if a  first pregnancy can have more aversions sometime for some women because it's the first time their body has been pregnant? If that makes sense.  First First pregnancy craved salty in the beginning weeks, followed by ice during the second trimester because I found out I was slightly anemic after taking gummy prenatal vitamins with no iron.    I ate a lot of salads because I threw up for 15-16 weeks. Tylenol made me throw up to in the beginning. I linked more information on ice cravings: Ice Cravings During Pregnancy   I feel like first pregnancy there were so many things I didn't want or couldn't eat, second and third time just fine within my normal comfort zone. Second When I was pregnant with my second, I craved spicy food. A week or so before I found out I was pregnant, I was eating jalapeno jelly with rice, eggs, and sandwiches. My husband was seriously looking at ...

My Newborn List: Grooming Accessories

Must Haves # 6: Grooming Accessories Items you will eventually need. Safety 1st Steady Grip Baby Nail Clippers The pediatrician gave me the green light when my baby was 5 days old to cut his nails but cautioned me to be careful because you could cut their skin by accident. I decided to wait for baby to be bigger than 5 days old before cutting the nails. I finally cut the nails sometime in the second week after baby scratched his face leaving a deep cut in the first week and a cut on the outside of his eyelid during the second week. The pediatrician told me a story of a baby who scratched his eyes because of long nails, which influence my decision to do it. *  Safety 1st Steady Grip Infant Clippers

Diminished Ovarian Reserve (DOR)

- Book Recommendations - The recommendations I have seen for DOR is reading the book, The Infertility Cure. If you would like to know where you can purchase this book, to buy it click here . This may provide helpful tips. I would also recommend trying the book, Taking Charge of Your Fertility. It has been considered the best seller in the fertility section on Amazon.com. If you would like to know where you can purchase it, to buy click here. That is if you have not already read either of those books. I have not read them myself, but these seem to come up often in discussions of trying to conceive. They may be able to provide more ideas and insight than I can. Before purchasing it, it may be helpful to read some reviews.  This is just food for thought. I know it depends on the person. I generally don't like to spend money on books for fertility and whatnot unless I can get them for an affordable price at a used bookstore for a few bucks versus $10-20 + dollars. My only excep...

Bed Rest & Postpartum Recovery Ideas: Music (Song Covers)

-   Song Covers   - Alex G - I Can't Make You Love Me . The original song was sung by Bonnie Raitt, to listen to click  here . A well-known version of this song is sung by the male singer, Tank .  To listen to his version, click  here . Even the very famous Adele has sung this song calling it her favorites .  Alex's version of this song cover is said to be available to buy on Itunes and Google Play.  Her voice reminds me a little of the singer, Hope. More From Alex G on Youtube: Alex G - Passenger's Let Her Go (Cover) Ellona Santiago - Clarity .  X-Factor contestant teen singer, Ellona beautifully sings Zedd's Clarity. This song saves her from being eliminated and she is added into Demi's final 4.  This is not available on Itunes. Sam Tsui & Christina Grimme - Just A Dream. Youtube sensation, The Voice Contestant, and 3rd place winner of The Voice, Christina Grimme does a duet cover. This is not av...

Bed Rest & Postpartum Recovery Ideas: Music (Hope)

-  Hope  - Hope - Who Am I To Say?  This is a song featured in Tyler Perry's Why Did I Get Married Film and Soundtrack. It is available to download on Itunes. The song link is from Youtube, uploaded by a Youtube user. There seems to be no official music video.  Information can be hard to find on her as a singer. I did find a website that has a biography,  here .  Hope -  The Rain Don't Last .   Another beautiful song by the mysterious singer, Hope.  The song link is from Youtube, uploaded by a Youtube user. There seems to be no official music video.  I could not find this song on Itunes. I did, however, see she was linked to a song on The PS I Love You soundtrack called Fortress, that is available on Itunes.

My Newborn List: Diapering (Helpful Additions)

Helpful Additions# 1:  Cloth Diaper Accessories - Not Necessary For Parents Using Disposable Diapers - Spray Bottle(s) You can choose to keep your cloth wipes dry and use a spray bottle at the time of diaper changes or have the cloth wipes pre-moisten. I prefer dry because I don't have to worry how long the wipes have been wet for. If you prefer dry, you will need a place to store your wipe solution. I also found the perfect size bottles from Amazon. Since they are little, I don't have to worry about the wipe solution being in there for a long time, as in the past when I used larger bottles. *  Soft n Style Spray Bottles Hand Sanitizer  To clean your hands when diapering on the go and at home.. * Honest Company

My Newborn List: Diapering (Splurges)

Splurges # 1: Diaper Accessories - These are not necessary items, but sometimes nice to have - Oxo Tot Perfect Pull Wipe Dispenser (reusable wipe container) I got this product during my third pregnancy.  This can be used for disposable wipes or cloth wipes. Since I cloth diaper It's a nice place to store the baby cloth wipes I will be using for diaper changes. I like to leave my wipes dry and then spray my cloth wipe solution on it when I am ready to use. It is said to fit 100 disposable wipes. It is going to fit fewer cloth wipes depending on the brand and how thin or thick the wipe is. I also fold my cloth wipes so they pop out like disposable wipes rather than rolling them.  In my experience, thick washcloths used as cloth wipes do not work for the pop-up pull. I like the oxo tot better than the Munchkin Wipes Warmer because you can get to the wipes without issue when the stack of wipes gets to the bottom and not have to shove your fingers in the t...

My Newborn List: Diapering (Cloth Diapers)

- Not Necessary For Parents Using Disposable Diapers - Cloth Diapers I used newborn cloth diapers in the beginning because my one size cloth diapers, such as Doopsy Pockets would not be able to fit my newborn on the size small setting. My newborn was 8 lbs and 8 oz at birth.  Although a big size, he is more long and skinny. He was 8 lbs and 3 oz by 5 days old and at 2 weeks and 5 days old he was 9 lbs and 5 oz and fit my Happy Flute AIO (All in One) newborn cloth diapers  from China  well. I found my Kissaluvs AIO (All in One) newborn cloth diapers were a little big.  Both brands have the snap down for the umbilical cord making these two brands easy for me to use when the umbilical stump was still attached. My gPant cloth diapers in size small were a little big too around the legs even at 3 weeks old, but I remember with my second baby he outgrew them quickly. So it really depends on your baby and how he or she fits in the newborn c...

My Newborn List: Diapering (Disposables)

- Not Necessary For Cloth Diapering Parents - Disposable Diapers (Until Umbilical Stump Heals) I am a cloth diapering mom. However, I also used the small pack of Huggies Snugglers disposable diapers given to me by the hospital and 1 pack of Babyganics newborn natural disposable diapers in addition to my newborn cloth diapers during the first two weeks while I was waiting for baby's umbilical stump to fall off and the healing process because not all of my newborn cloth diapers had the pull-down option for the umbilical cord. I didn't want any of the cloth diapers  that did not have the pull-down snap rubbing or covering the umbilical area. I also didn't want to use the cloth diapers at times when the umbilical stump started bleeding/goo a few times, after pressing the belly button. The umbilical stump had to be reclamped before being discharged from the hospital. It fell off on day three. On day five, at my baby's first pediatrician visit, the pediatrician exami...
