There is so much information you do not know about the car seat to know it is safe to use, such as if the previous owner has been in any major or minor car accidents. Has it been sitting in the heat every day in their car, never being covered? Extreme heat is said to damage plastic over time. I had the car seat for a total of 7 years, it is expired and can not be used anymore, but it held up. And once I had the chance to buy a new car seat, it was rarely used.
