My Endometriosis Story

Natural Amenorrhea
I was pain-free for almost two years. Pregnancy really did help alleviate my symptoms. Also, I breastfed my first child for 30 months and for 17 months I did not have a menstrual cycle after the birth of my first child. My menstrual cycles still are uncomfortable. As they have progressed, they are getting more and more uncomfortable. However, I only need to take between 50-200 mg of Ibuprofen now in a day and generally altogether now up to 800 mg throughout a cycle. I feel as if my quality of life is back since the temporary effects of the laparoscopy, pregnancy, and breastfeeding without a menstrual cycle.
Overall Thoughts
Before I got a positive pregnancy test, I was once where you are, hoping, wishing and praying it wasn't impossible for me. I am now in a place where I have moved passed having Endometriosis, I know its apart of me, but it doesn't have to define me or my dreams of motherhood. If anything it humbles me and reminds me of how blessed I am with each pregnancy, as to remind me not to take what I do have for granted. There is always the worry about Endometriosis determining how many children I will be able to have and when, but it makes me grateful to have been pregnant and carry at least one baby to full term. Endometriosis always keeps me grateful.
