Unknowingly Swaying

Lately, I've been reading on Gender Swaying. It's all the craze with women hoping to conceive a specific gender. This method is said not to be 100%. Something of interest caught my attention, frequent intimacy lowers sperm count and that sways girl.

- Most of this falls under timing of intimacy -
With my first pregnancy, I really wanted a girl. I knew nothing about sway (until I started trying to conceive number 3) or really much about ways to increase conception other than to be intimate. My idea was it only takes one time to become pregnant, but the little bit of literature I had read suggested timing was everything to increase the chance of a successful pregnancy. Since I wasn't sure of when was the best time for conception, I got the idea that frequent intimacy would increase my chance of becoming pregnant. For trying to conceive number one, it was intimacy every day to every other day and yes, we had a girl.

When trying to conceive number 2, I really wanted a boy to have one of each in case we would not be able to have any more children, but a small part of wouldn't have minded another girl. Still knowing nothing about swaying, we did our best to be intimate as much as possible following the plan that helped us conceive our first child - where it was literally every day. For number 2, we were intimate 12 days (2x in 1 day as well) out of a 28-day cycle. I've included my fertility chart below. The timing was not as frequent as when we were trying to conceive our first but still is frequent with 3 missed days of intimacy. Most interestingly, the day Fertility Friend marks as the day of possible ovulation we were intimate, but the day before we had missed, which might have given enough time for the sperm to replenish itself and increase in count. Also noted in my Boy / Girl Sway List of things said to say for either gender, listed under boy is being under 24 is said to sway boy. I conceived my son at age 23, so it's a possible factor, but not a strong factor since I conceived my daughter at age 20. We also used pre-seed while we were trying to conceive which is said to sway boy. And our 2nd is a boy!

One thing that did not affect our unknowing sway was I had taken vitamin b6 while trying to conceive because breastfeeding caused me to have a short luteal phase. Vitamin B6 is said to sway girl.

Maybe we unknowingly swayed for the genders we wanted. Who knows for sure? It will be fun to put this idea to the test, though.

For number 3, I was hoping to follow a girl -boy-girl pattern. In the 10 cycles, I tried to conceive, I tried to eat foods that sway girl and limit the foods that sway boy. I couldn't restrict myself from certain foods long term, though, so by the time I became pregnant I was not following a sway diet. Maybe because I had taken Soy Isoflavones during the cycle I became pregnant, my cervical mucus was pretty dry that cycle.

Frida Mom for Post Laparoscopy Care

My Frida Mom Basket for Post-Laparoscopy Care. Why I Love the Frida Mom Line (Even Beyond Motherhood) One of the things I’ve really come to appreciate is how versatile the Frida Mom line is—not just for new moms, but for anyone recovering from abdominal surgeries, such as laparoscopies for endometriosis. After surgery, comfort and gentle care are everything. That’s where the C-section recovery underwear comes in. Even if you haven’t had a baby, the design makes sense—when you have incisions on your abdomen, you need something soft, high-waisted, and non-restrictive. These disposable underwears are a lifesaver compared to standard disposable Depends. The big difference? You can build your own pad system . Start with the underwear. Add a menstrual pad. Layer on a witch hazel perineal liner, perineal cream, or both. Attach an optional heating pad for cramping. It’s completely customizable depending on what your body needs that day. I also want to mention the liners pack...

Recovering from my laparoscopy has been a journey, and honestly, some days are more uncomfortable than others. Over the past week, I’ve found a few products that have made a huge difference in how I feel—both physically and mentally. Here’s what’s been helping me get through it: 1. Body Wash That Feels Safe Before and after surgery, I wanted something gentle that still felt clean. I’ve been using Dove Antibacterial Body Wash , and it’s been perfect. It keeps the incision area clean without stinging or irritating my skin, which is such a relief.  2. Underwear That Actually Works I never thought I’d get excited about disposable underwear, but Frida Mom Disposable C-Section Underwear has been a game-changer. They’re soft, supportive, and don’t press on my stomach—exactly what ...
