My Experiences with Low BBT

  • Maybe a Thyroid Issue?

I had a midwife once speculate after reviewing my fertility charts from when I was trying to conceive my second, that perhaps it was my low BBT that made it take 6 cycles out of 9 periods for me to become pregnant with my second child while breastfeeding my first.  That midwife encouraged me to get testing from my OBGYN office when my husband and I started trying to conceive a third. The testing revealed, I was on the low end of normal for my thyroid based on the TSH and T4 tests. It took us 10 cycles to conceive our third with a low bbt.

  • My BBT is Low?

I never even noticed that my BBT was low, I just thought it was normal for me. I didn't chart with my first, so I didn't have anything to compare my fertility charts to after we tried for a second. I do remember prior to the pregnancy of my first, I was always high 98-99. I was doing a nursing assistant class and as students we had to practice vitals on each other every day, and I was almost always at a low grade fever, even though I wasn't, didn't feel or look sick.

  • Breastfeeding & Low BBTs
After talking to many breastfeeding mamas, some of them also have low BBTs as well. This maybe something related to breastfeeding.

Implantation Dips & Raised BBT

The exception to early implantation dips theory I have found is that  some women get early positive pregnancy tests as a result of having a multiples pregnancy, some women gets dips in many of their cycles that do not result in pregnancy and some women like me don't get dips during a c...

Recovering from my laparoscopy has been a journey, and honestly, some days are more uncomfortable than others. Over the past week, I’ve found a few products that have made a huge difference in how I feel—both physically and mentally. Here’s what’s been helping me get through it: 1. It keeps the incision area clean without stinging or irritating my skin, which is such a relief.  2. They’re soft, supportive, and don’t press on my stomach—exactly what ...

Clear Blue Plus Pregnancy Test (Blue Dye)

Clear Blue Plus Pregnancy Test  with Blue Dye (+ / - ) This is what a negative looks like: Side Note: Blue dyes are often said to more frequently give false positives than pink dye. Some online boards that will tweak (alter) a pregnancy test photo to help individuals identify if the test is a faint positive or indeed negative, often will not do blue dyes.
