Dear Mothers Who Want To Bathe Alone,
I've got just the song for you.
I just found myself creating it one when I was in a similar scenario as you.
"There you are fussing, unable to give me 5 mins alone.
But little child, I just want to bathe alone.
Please don't climb in.
I see you there, making me feel guilty for wanting this one simple luxury.
You keep on fussing until I let you win.
I can feel my resolve melting as I let you in."
The scenario was my mom only 5 min shower turned into my son joining me fully clothes as he climbed right in. Yes, I am that mom that makes up songs and poems for the endless mother situations I find myself in as I learn to pick and choose my battles. Good thing all that singing and dancing in the bathroom as a child prepared me for moments like this. Who knew?
Just know you are not alone and they won't bathe with you forever.
One day you will have showers and baths uninterrupted.
And it maybe in those moments we will recall those fond or maybe not so fond memories
of our little ones trying to climb in with us.
And it may tug on our lips to form a faint smile as we remember.
