Sound Machines for Kids

- My Baby Sound Spa Lullaby Sound Machine -
I originally bought the My Baby Sound Spa Lullaby sound machine when I was trying to help my first child, a breastfeeding toddler at the time to have an official bedtime routine. We were no longer in the first year or breastfeeding on demand after two years old. I kept breastfeeding her to sleep as the last part of the bedtime routine until I weaned her due to nipple sensitivity during my second pregnancy when she was two and a half years old. The sound machine worked, but over time the projection would break. We bought this particular product twice. After the second time of the projection breaking when we had two children, we decided to go with a different brand. I have seen this at Target in the past, I know this can be purchased at Amazon.com, to see it click here. I noticed on Amazon, some reviewers shared their frustration at how they loved the product until the projector broke.

- Munchkin Nursery Projector & Sound Machine -
Fast forward to the present, I have three children now and we bought this as part of the bedtime routine for my older two children. We co-sleep with our children. Mr. Endo and I both actually like sleeping to some of the more nature type settings, so this does not affect going to sleep. We've had the sound machine I believe for less than a year, and the projector is broken. My children, always take out the discs of these products and lose them. It makes me kind of wish it had a projection that does not need to be changed. I like the idea of changing it, but if it increases the chance of your children wanting to switch the discs or making you change to which one they like at night, I'm okay to not have this feature. It seems this product is no longer available on Amazon.com, but you can still view it here. It seems some customers had issues with the projector breaking so easily. I did see that my local Wal-Mart still has this product for sale. To see if your Wal-mart has one, click here.

- Skip Hop Moonlight and Melodies Nightlight Soother in Owl-
We received this sound machine as a baby gift after our third baby was born from close family members. We have had it for a year and it still works. I like the fact that this has a projection. Some sound machines do not, although the ones geared at children seem to mostly have them. The projector remains attached. Hallelujah! No more changing projector discs.  I think the fact that it is in familiar animal shape (owl) the children tend to like it better than one that looks more like furniture and blends in. When this one came, my children were more interested in this than our Munchkin (see above) one. The owl's belly is the night light. Fits perfect on mom and dad's headboard or side table or on their bedside table in their rooms. Amazon sells it, to see it, click here.

2018 Update: We still have this sound machine and it is still working. We are currently using it with our older two children as a nightlight and sound machine at bedtime. We have had it for two years and everything still works, including the projection. I highly recommend this one!

Clear Blue Plus Pregnancy Test (Blue Dye)

Clear Blue Plus Pregnancy Test  with Blue Dye (+ / - ) This is what a negative looks like: Side Note: Blue dyes are often said to more frequently give false positives than pink dye. Some online boards that will tweak (alter) a pregnancy test photo to help individuals identify if the test is a faint positive or indeed negative, often will not do blue dyes.

Frida Mom for Post Laparoscopy Care

My Frida Mom Basket for Post-Laparoscopy Care. Why I Love the Frida Mom Line (Even Beyond Motherhood) One of the things I’ve really come to appreciate is how versatile the Frida Mom line is—not just for new moms, but for anyone recovering from abdominal surgeries, such as laparoscopies for endometriosis. After surgery, comfort and gentle care are everything. That’s where the C-section recovery underwear comes in. Even if you haven’t had a baby, the design makes sense—when you have incisions on your abdomen, you need something soft, high-waisted, and non-restrictive. These disposable underwears are a lifesaver compared to standard disposable Depends. The big difference? You can build your own pad system . Start with the underwear. Add a menstrual pad. Layer on a witch hazel perineal liner, perineal cream, or both. Attach an optional heating pad for cramping. It’s completely customizable depending on what your body needs that day. I also want to mention the liners pack...

My Laparoscopy Recovery Essentials: What’s Actually Helping Me Heal

Disclaimer: Links to all the products I mentioned are included. I am not being paid to promote any of them and do not receive payments. Skin sensitivity may impact your experiences with these products. Recovering from my laparoscopy has been a journey, and honestly, some days are more uncomfortable than others. Over the past week, I’ve found a few products that have made a huge difference in how I feel—both physically and mentally. Here’s what’s been helping me get through it: 1. Body Wash That Feels Safe Before and after surgery, I wanted something gentle that still felt clean. I’ve been using Dove Antibacterial Body Wash , and it’s been perfect. It keeps the incision area clean without stinging or irritating my skin, which is such a relief.  2. Underwear That Actually Works I never thought I’d get excited about disposable underwear, but Frida Mom Disposable C-Section Underwear has been a game-changer. They’re soft, supportive, and don’t press on my stomach—exactly what ...
