So my oldest lost another tooth. It happened unexpectedly in the afternoon, and I found myself yet again not prepared. I didn't think my daughter would lose one tooth per month. The day my oldest said her tooth was wiggly, I asked my husband to pick up some teeth related activities and accessories from the local store. He purchased dental products, such as mouthwash and dental floss picks. I ordered a few things online as well. My concern was would the online items get here in time? (They did not).
I also found cute lost your tooth/tooth fairy related tooth receipts to pair with the tradition of receiving money. The free printable I used was from the website, The Suburban Mom (www.thesuburbanmom.com). The link to the tooth receipt and note is here.
Gifts to promote healthy habits:
- Dental Floss Picks for Kids
- Kid Tooth Paste
- Kid Mouth Wash
- Peppa Pig Dental Activity Book
Tooth Fairy Part:
- Dollar- Tooth Fairy Book (The Berenstain Bears and the Tooth Fairy)
- Tooth Keeper (Bonkers The Money Tooth Fairy Plush)
This was the first time I had purchased a tooth keeper. When my daughter woke up the next morning it was in her bed with a dollar tucked into its pocket. She absoutely loves her tooth keeper monkey and even gave it a name. My daughter rarely gives names to her toys and usually when she does, in the past she just called them by her own name. This time, she gave this plush monkey his own unique name. I honestly think she was more excited about the tooth keeper monkey than any of the other items she recieved. More excited about the monkey than the money. It was such as a success, when my other children start loosing teeth I will be ordering these again.
If you like what you saw in my photos, I've added a list below.
To Get These Accessories:
- White Towels (Target)- Wooden Plaque with Mason Jars (Target)
- 11 x 14 Frames with 8x10 Mat (Wal-Mart)
- White Hooks (Wal-Mart)
I wrote a post about my thoughts on the tooth fairy here. To summarize it, our final thoughts were there is no harm in celebrating and having a little fun with it. However, the focus would primarily be on promoting health and healthy habits, whenever possible. The first tooth ended up being a success. I wrote about it here.
